History and Evolution
Solaris was founded in 1972 and purchased in 1991 by Mr. Serge Chalifour.
The new leader, who had been following market trends in Europe, sought to develop a range of superior-quality products, adapted to the local market and made of PVC. Solaris became the pioneer of PVC window products in Quebec.
As early as 1993, Solaris continued to be a pioneer in the production of painted doors and windows by initiating the development of specialized paint, drying ovens, and production lines to support this new approach. Today, it is evident that 80 to 85% of products are available in color.
When the company was acquired, it consisted of two small detached buildings, fewer than 10 employees, and virtually no revenue. Today, with the passage of time and expansions, the factory spans about 135,000 square feet, has three consumer sales centers, and employs approximately 300 people during the peak season.
